Ben Bulben (more correctly spelled Benbulbin) is a striking, flat–topped rock formation in the Dartry Mountains. Its highest point is 1,726 feet (526 metres) above sea level.
Under Ben Bulben was one of Yeats's last poems – drafted in August 1938, when he was 73 years old and already in poor health. He died in January 1939.
